• About Our Hospital

Kindred Hospital Central Tampa is a 102-bed transitional care hospital providing specialized, long-term acute care to medically complex patients in Tampa, Florida. Our more than 250 employees and 200 medical staff physicians are dedicated to meeting our patients' and families’ needs. We feature an expanded staff in the Respiratory Care and Rehabilitation departments as well as a full-time enterostomal nurse for special wound care needs. We also feature on-site availability of physicians between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. weekdays and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays for emergencies.

Kindred Hospital Central Tampa is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Florida. Our hospital provides specialized services on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis. The primary market area served is the Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County region although patients are often referred from outside the area. We work closely with our referring facilities, to assure that patients referred to our care are accommodated in an efficient and effective manner. Our patients are typically referred from the intensive care unit of short-term acute care hospitals. Many require some type of life support (i.e., mechanical ventilation). Our hospital features 6 ICU beds, 8 PCU beds, and onsite CT services.

The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) makes available data on hospital prices and performance on its website. Pricing and performance data provided by AHCA are a compilation of charges for the average patient, and your bill may vary from the average depending upon the severity of your illness and your individual care needs.
